"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure...than to rank with those timid spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." ~ Theodore Roosevelt |
From the beggining |
Where we are now |
I was born in Ontario, Canada, but moved to Charlotte, NC, when I was very young. I always loved sports, reading, traveling, and my family.
I graduated from NCSU with a BS in Middle Grades Education (language arts and social studies). Afterwards I taught 6th grade language arts at JM Alexander Middle for three years. I then moved to Nashville for Vanderbilt University's Learning & Design M.Ed program. It was amazing and I finished the program in one year. I got to take literacy, cognitive neuroscience, counseling, and participatory action research courses! |
I left Nashville for a year to teach 6th grade intensive and 7th grade advanced language arts, but I missed the city (and my friends), so I came back and scored the best job ever at West End Middle School.
I now teach 7th grade language arts and work with a terrific team! |
"The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience"
